Dr Achim Hoffmann

Before starting WOXON Achim was a consultant with McKinsey&Company in London and Düsseldorf. At McKinsey he managed projects for industrial clients on mainly strategic and operational issues but was also involved in marketing and organisational client projects. Industries he has worked in were Oil&Gas, Chemicals, Transport, Internet, Aerospace&Defence, Consumer Goods and Imaging. He also supported start-up companies getting their business of the ground as part of the Accelerator program.

As project engineer, Achim worked at the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT in Oberhausen. UMSICHT, a cleantech research institute that does applied research for industrial clients. As part of the environmental technology group, Achim was the in-house expert for membrane technologies but also got involved in various other technical areas such as air drying, waste disposal by pyrolysis, crystallisation processes, waste incineration plant flue gas treatment and more.

Achim holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Chicago) with majors in Entrepreneurship and Management&Strategy, a PhD (Dr.-Ing.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dortmund, and a MS (Dipl.-Ing.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe.
